Introduction

- Long-term irradiation tests of nuclear and high-technology materials in the CT, IR
   test holes of HANARO
- Development process for the measurement of the neutron flux and material irradiation
   in 1998

Design Features

- Main body(about 1000mm in length and 60mm in diameter) having 5 stages of controlled
  He gas pressure
- Irradiation of CT, Charpy, PCVN, tensile, ABI, MBE, SP, Hv, TEM, UT,
PA specimens installed with fluence and temperature monitors
- Accelerating irradiation tests ; 6 days irradiation of RPV(reactor pressure vessel)
materials simulates the irradiation effect during reactor design life of 30 years

Application

- Measurement of the axial distribution of the neutron flux and the range of irradiation
temperature of the HANARO test holes
- Production of irradiation data for the nuclear reactor and high-technology materials
and design data for the next generation nuclear power reactor

Status and Plan

- Evaluation of the effect of the irradiation temperature and neutron fluence on
the irradiation damage of nuclear and high-technology materials
- Contribution to the researches on safety/integration/life-extension of reactor
materials and to the development of nuclear/high-technology materials
- Active utilization of HANARO for the researches on nuclear and high-technology
  materials for various users
