Half core test loop
 

- Characteristics : same outside appearance/the inside structure cut down
   by half of the HANARO reactor  
- Structure : Plenum, grid plate, core, chimney, dummy pool
- Flow tube : hexagonal 13, roune 4, outcore OR 3(total 20)
- Material and dimension : STS304/ 2.4m in diameter, 8m in height


  Single channel test loop

 

- Characteristics : visual investigation of the capsule loading/unloading test           
   and the thermal hydraulic test  
- Precise flow control using a pump speed control
- Material and dimension : Acryl/ 60cm in diameter, 4.5m in height

 


Application
 
 

- Review of the design values and the design improvement through the capsule performance
  test
- Safety assessment for the irradiation apparatus such as the capsule, FTL IPS and rig
  by thermal hydraulic and vibration tests.
- Verification and development of the calculation code through the thermal, hydraulic and
  vibration tests at HANARO under operating conditions   
- Contribution to the life time extension by performance and endurance tests of
   the HANARO shut-off rod

- Presently utilized as the HANARO multi-purpose test facility
- Loading/unloading and thermal hydraulic/vibration tests for the capsule
- Development and performance tests for the capsule control system and the supporting unit
- Study for FTL development and thermal hydraulic tests for FTL IPS
- Test for the lifetime extension and performance of the HANARO shut-off rod   
- Vibration and endurance test for the HANARO fuel assembly
